Expanding our vision, deepening our impact
Generation’s first five years have seen rapid growth and strong impact. We have progressed from a handful of initial classes to 36,000 graduates in 13 countries, 150+ cities, and 26 professions—and those graduates have earned more than $135 million in cumulative salaries in their new careers.
With that growth came the welcome opportunity to increase our impact even further. We continue to serve unemployed and underemployed young people through our successful employment program, but we have expanded our work to tackle new challenges. We have successfully piloted programs that serve mid-career workers who face job loss due to automation or digitization—or who are simply in need of new skills to transition back into the workforce after a hiatus. We call this “ReGeneration” and plan to expand those programs, building on the success of our initial pilots in Spain, Singapore, and the United States. Our work with individuals has also sparked a desire to transform the education to employment system itself. We’ve begun work with government, NGO, and other partners to do just that.
Given all of this, our old mission and vision no longer fit the organization we had become, so we undertook a project to bring them up-to-date.
We are pleased to share with you The result:
Our Mission
We transform education to employment systems to prepare, place, and support people into life-changing careers that would otherwise be inaccessible.
Our Vision
A meaningful career and sustained well-being for every person anywhere in the world.
These reinforce our ongoing commitment to the thousands of young people we serve each year through our employment programs. And they also encompass our plans to expand our programs for mid-career workers. In addition, we will continue to work with our partners to transform not only individual lives, but the entire education-to-employment system that supports them.
We are inspired and energized by these statements, and we hope you are, too!
