Quratulain | IT Support
“It’s never too late to restart your career”
Before joining Generation, Quratulain (39) was looking to restart her career after taking time out of the workforce to raise her family. She was eager to return to employment but found it challenging to navigate a new job market and translate her previous experience into opportunities.
“Before joining the bootcamp, I had taken a long career break to raise my family and was trying to restart my career in Ireland. I lacked recent practical experience and confidence, and found it difficult to understand the Irish job market and demonstrate my transferable skills to employers.”
Determined to rebuild her confidence and gain practical, up-to-date skills, Quratulain enrolled in Generation’s IT Support bootcamp in Dublin in March 2026.
The programme helped her strengthen both her technical and employability skills, while giving her the confidence to pursue opportunities in the tech sector.
“The Generation bootcamp rebuilt my confidence and gave me current, practical IT skills.”
Quratulain particularly enjoyed developing her troubleshooting, networking, ticket management and customer support skills. The programme also helped her improve her communication, teamwork and interviewing techniques, leaving her feeling ready to return to the workplace.
Shortly after completing the bootcamp, Quratulain secured an entry-level Forms Developer role with Dedalus, a healthcare technology company.
In her role, she develops and maintains digital clinical forms and dashboards for the ORBIS healthcare system using HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Working closely with clinical and technical teams, she helps support digital services used across healthcare settings.
“I am excited to begin my new career with Dedalus and use technology to support healthcare services. I look forward to learning from experienced colleagues, developing my technical skills and progressing within the company.”
Returning to employment has had a significant impact on Quratulain’s confidence, independence and sense of purpose.
“Most importantly, this opportunity has shown me that it is never too late to restart your career. Gaining employment after a long career break has given me financial independence, renewed confidence and a strong sense of achievement. I can contribute more towards my family’s future and be a positive role model for my children, showing them that determination and continuous learning can open new opportunities.”
Now feeling more settled in Ireland and optimistic about the future, Quratulain is looking forward to continuing her development and building a long-term career in tech.
