Our First Social Impact Report
Closing the skills gap & breaking barriers to employment – the impact case for skills bootcamps in Ireland.
Our very first social impact report details our impact across Ireland since we launched in 2020.
Although many think Ireland is at ‘full employment’, 125,000 people remain unemployed, with an additional 140,000 under-employed. The challenge of finding meaningful work is not equally distributed, as certain groups encounter significantly more barriers, resulting in higher unemployment rates and limited access to wellpaying jobs. Simultaneously, a skills gap persists, with
25,000 vacancies unfilled and over 80% of employers struggling to find suitable candidates.
Generation is a charity committed to solving these challenges by supporting those facing barriers to employment into life-changing, otherwise inaccessible, careers through a unique model of bootcamp training with extensive wrap-around support. Since launching in late 2020, we’ve pioneered Ireland’s skills bootcamp provision, supporting over 600 people to date.
